Seeking new talents

We offer 6 PhD positions with excellent conditions to research in photocatalysis!

APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED

Application period: 15th December 2024 -16th March 2025

Starting date of the 6 PhD contracts: 1st September or 1st October 2025

All our network institutions are equal opportunity employers and seek a workforce diverse in age, culture, nationality and gender. None of them will apply restrictions on gender, age, ethnic groups, national or social origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, language, disability, political opinion, and social or economic conditions.

If you want to apply for any of our 6 PhD positions, you must:

  • Comply with the mobility rule. You must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
  • Comply with the Doctoral Candidate definition. You must be in the first four years (or fulltime equivalent research experience) of your research career and not been awarded a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment by the hosting institution.
  • Be in position of enrolling in a doctoral programme at the country and to meet the specific eligibility requirements at the hosting institution, if applicable.
  • Submit a complete application before March 16th 2025 (see “How to apply” section below).
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks Programme offers highly competitive and attractive salary and working conditions. Each fellowship includes the following:

  • Monthly living allowance: 3,270 €/month (39,240 €/year). This amount is adjusted through the application of a country correction coefficient to the living allowance of the country in which the researcher is recruited. The country correction coefficients are indicated in Table 1 of the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023-2025 for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
  • Monthly mobility allowance: 600 €/month.
  • Monthly family allowance: 495 €/month (applicable depending on the family situation).

All researchers will be recruited under an employment contract that includes social security coverage.

The living allowance is a gross EU contribution to the salary costs of the researcher. Consequently, the net salary results from deducting all compulsory (employer/employee) social security contributions as well as direct taxes (e.g. income tax) from the gross amounts. The rate indicated here is for researchers devoting themselves to their project on a full-time basis. The mobility and family allowances are fixed amounts, regardless of the country of recruitment, and may be taxable depending on the country in which the researcher is recruited.

At PIA we are fully committed to equal opportunities and we have implemented measures to ensure this. During the application procedure, we will ask candidates to include information on any career breaks, and these will not be penalized during the selection procedure. In addition, when checking compliance with the mobility rule, we will not consider the refugee procedure as a period of residence in the country where the candidate is applying. When all scores and evaluation criteria are equal, we will give preference to candidates from under-represented groups, for example women, and candidates with disabilities or those from refugee backgrounds.

Applications must be submitted to pia@uam.es including the curriculum vitae (with Bachelor and Masters detailed marks record), motivation letter and recommendation letters (at least one). Please, indicate “PIA Application to DC1-6 position” in the email subject, being 1-6 the number of the DC position you want to apply for.
